Content workshops: The carved songbird is a symbolic and popular object in the Salzkammergut, especially during the Christmas and winter season. Carved and painted, it can be found in miniature as a decoration for hats, and in larger versions on Christmas trees and cribs. In many families it is present in the living room all year round as a reminder of a dear family member.

Verena Haidl: Very early on, Verena Haidl made the decision to develop professionally in the direction of sculpture. A job away from creativity and art would not be an option for her. Her education led her from the HTBLA in Hallstatt (sculpture) to the master school for sculpture in Munich. Her work ranges from traditional carvings and sculptures to modern installations, and it is precisely this spectrum that gives her great pleasure. Dealing with different forms is always an interesting process for Verena: to train her own eye, to feel whether a composition or a play of forms harmonises, is a daily challenge for her.
